AgiBot A2 Sets New Guinness World Record With 100km Cross-Province Humanoid Robot Walk

China’s robotics industry has achieved a powerful new milestone as AgiBot’s humanoid robot, the A2, successfully completed a 100-kilometer cross-province walk from Suzhou to Shanghai—earning official recognition from Guinness World Records for the Longest journey walked by a humanoid robot.

The A2 began its journey at Suzhou’s Jinji Lake and arrived at Shanghai’s Bund after covering 106.286 kilometers, a feat that demonstrates the maturity, reliability, and growing commercial readiness of China’s humanoid robotics technologies.

Real-World Urban Navigation Showcases China’s Robotics Capability

The A2 walked across diverse real-world environments—city streets, highways, scenic areas, bridges, tactile paving, sloped paths, and low-light night sections. Throughout the journey, the robot followed traffic rules and operated continuously without a single shutdown.

A major contributor to this achievement was AgiBot’s hot-swappable battery system, which allowed uninterrupted operation for the entire route. Despite walking more than 100 kilometers, the robot showed only minimal wear on its foot soles, highlighting the durability and engineering quality of China’s emerging humanoid platforms.

Mass-Produced, Not Modified—Proof of Industrial Maturity

AgiBot confirmed that the A2 used in the challenge was a standard mass-produced unit, identical to those already deployed for clients—no special modifications were made.

Equipped with dual GPS, lidar, and infrared depth cameras, the robot demonstrated precise sensing and navigation across complex and dynamic urban environments, reflecting China’s progress in integrated hardware-software robotics systems.

Upon reaching the North Bund, the A2 briefly interacted with reporters, leveraging its built-in multilingual capabilities and memory systems—and humorously remarked that it “might need a new pair of shoes.”

AgiBot also revealed that the A2 surpassed 1,000 units shipped in 2025, marking a significant step in large-scale deployment and accelerating the growth of China’s robotics industry.
