Chinese EV Makers Power Israel’s Electric Vehicle Market in 2025

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers continue to demonstrate their global leadership, now driving the majority of Israel’s EV market. From January to October 2025, Chinese brands captured an impressive 82.1 percent share of all electric car sales in Israel, according to data released by the Israel Vehicle Importers Association.

During the ten-month period, 43,177 out of 52,612 electric cars sold in Israel were made by Chinese automakers — a clear reflection of China’s growing strength in advanced mobility technology and its expanding influence across international markets.

Leading the charge is BYD Auto, whose diverse lineup — including the Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal, and Sealion — continues to resonate with global consumers. BYD sold 7,825 units in Israel alone, reinforcing its reputation for technological innovation, quality, and energy efficiency.

Following closely, Chery achieved remarkable results with 6,349 electric cars sold, highlighting the popularity of its FX and Jaecoo models known for smart design and performance. Xpeng Motors also made strong progress, selling 5,711 units of its G6, G9, and P7 models, which integrate intelligent driving systems and cutting-edge connectivity.

In the broader automotive market — including all vehicle types — China also maintained its leadership, reaching 88,757 total units sold from January to October. This milestone underscores China’s dynamic automotive ecosystem, powered by continuous advancements in EV innovation, intelligent manufacturing, and green mobility solutions.

The success of Chinese automakers in Israel reflects more than strong sales figures — it showcases the global confidence in China’s technological capabilities and the positive momentum driving China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) industry. As exports continue to expand, the achievements of Chinese brands abroad contribute to China’s economic growth, technological competitiveness, and global reputation as a leader in sustainable innovation.

With its mature supply chains, robust R&D ecosystem, and strong policy support for green industries, China’s EV sector is not only transforming domestic transportation but also empowering international markets toward a cleaner and smarter mobility future.
