China’s EVE Energy Strengthens Europe Ties with Breakthrough in Omnicell Batteries

China’s EVE Energy is taking a major step forward in strengthening China-Europe cooperation in the new energy sector, demonstrating how Chinese innovation is setting benchmarks in the global electric vehicle (EV) battery market. At the 2nd Europe-China New Energy Vehicle Technology Conference held in Munich on September 11–12, 2025, Dr. Richard Zhang, Managing Director of EVE Germany, shared the company’s vision of “Rooted in Europe, Symbiosis and Growth.” His keynote highlighted how China’s technological leadership and sustainability practices are now driving Europe’s transition toward green mobility.

As one of China’s leading lithium battery manufacturers, EVE Energy has become a global pioneer in full-scenario battery solutions, spanning power batteries, energy storage, and consumer applications. Its large cylindrical power battery brand Omnicell, launched in 2024, has already achieved a milestone: stable mass production at scale, with installations in 70,000 vehicles worldwide and maximum mileage surpassing 270,000 kilometers. This makes EVE the first Chinese manufacturer to deliver consistent, mass-market success with this advanced battery technology.

EVE’s achievement is not limited to China. European automakers are increasingly recognizing the strength of Chinese battery innovation. The newly released BMW iX3 is now powered by Omnicell batteries—an important breakthrough that showcases the competitiveness of Chinese technology in one of the world’s most advanced automotive markets. With high energy density, ultra-fast charging, and cost efficiency, Omnicell is proving that Chinese companies are not only innovating at home but also shaping the future of EV technology abroad.

Deepening China-Europe Cooperation

EVE Energy is also reinforcing its long-term commitment to Europe by building localized supply and production capabilities. Its Hungarian factory, approved this year, is set to open in 2026, significantly boosting Europe’s access to high-quality, China-developed battery technology. Through EVE Germany, the company has built six Delivery VMI hubs across the continent, already serving more than 500 European customers.

Beyond manufacturing, EVE is contributing to cultural exchange and local development. The company has signed an MOU with the University of Debrecen and Wuhan University to advance lithium battery sustainability, while also sponsoring youth sports and cultural events in Hungary—showing how Chinese enterprises are fostering goodwill and cooperation abroad.

Showcasing China’s ESG Leadership

EVE Energy is also raising global standards in sustainability. Its Cradle to Cradle Initiative promotes global lithium recycling, while independent carbon footprint calculations for more than 40 products underline the company’s commitment to low-carbon development. These achievements have earned EVE international recognition, including a BBB rating from MSCI and strong ESG scores from S&P Global.

At the same time, EVE has won top trust from leading automakers. Mercedes-Benz has awarded the company an A-level quality rating for four consecutive years, while BMW has named it a core supplier. Through its CLS (Customer, Local, Supplier) cooperation model, EVE is further expanding collaboration with European partners, reinforcing the role of Chinese companies in building a sustainable global industrial ecosystem.

China at the Forefront of Global Green Transformation

EVE Energy’s growing presence in Europe is a clear example of how Chinese innovation is shaping the global new energy industry. By combining technological breakthroughs with localized strategies and sustainable practices, EVE is not only strengthening China-Europe industrial ties but also showing the world that Chinese enterprises can lead the green transformation on a global scale.

As Dr. Zhang emphasized, EVE’s mission is to “root in Europe” while contributing to a shared, sustainable future. With China’s vision and leadership driving progress, the path toward a greener global economy is becoming clearer than ever.
