Crosser Secures $4.12 Million Angel Round Financing, Pioneering China’s Manned Space Tourism

Crosser, China’s first commercial manned space technology enterprise, has recently completed an angel round of financing, raising $4.12 million. The round was led by Qifu Capital, with the funds allocated to the production and development of the CYZ1 suborbital manned spacecraft (CYZ1-00). These funds will support the establishment of a commercial test base for environment control and life support, alongside critical advancements in safety technologies such as innovative escape systems, advanced parachute designs, and reusable structural stability.

Founded in January 2023, Crosser is a pioneer in the development of reusable manned spacecraft and space tourism. The company aims to create a cost-effective and sustainable space travel solution, comparable to China’s “Dragon” spacecraft. Its ambitious goal is to make commercial space tourism a reality across Asia by 2028.

Crosser’s flagship spacecraft, “Crusher No. 1,” represents China’s first suborbital reusable commercial manned spacecraft. It features cutting-edge push-escape technology and is designed to achieve a 100-meter high-precision, lossless landing—unparalleled in the global market. This spacecraft’s feasibility study has been reviewed and approved by top domestic experts in manned spaceflight, marking a major milestone in China’s aerospace industry.

The core technological innovations driving Crosser’s success include:

  • High-Precision Return Control: Autonomous suborbital flight with unparalleled accuracy and comfort.
  • Autonomous Escape and Safe Return: AI-driven, high-thrust engines for trajectory planning and safety.
  • 99% Reusability: Revolutionary escape system technology enabling modular rapid replacement of thermal protection structures.
  • Crew Life Support Systems: Advanced human factors engineering for crew well-being during suborbital flights.

Crosser’s commercial space tourism tickets are priced at $412,000 per seat. With a capacity of seven passengers per flight, the investment recovery is projected after just six successful missions. Notably, Crosser has already pre-sold nearly ten tickets globally, with its first ticket sold in November 2023.

Fu Zhekuan, Chairman of Qifu Capital, emphasized the commercial potential of manned spaceflight and praised Crosser’s visionary leadership and exceptional execution capabilities. He highlighted Crosser as the only private Chinese company providing comprehensive solutions for commercial manned spaceflight, positioning it as a leader in the industry.

Crosser’s achievements and its strategic direction solidify its role as a key player in the global commercial space industry. As China’s sole company in this field, Crosser is setting the benchmark for manned space tourism and commercial space ventures, promising a future where space travel becomes accessible and routine for ordinary individuals and businesses alike.
