The Chinese automotive export market continues to thrive, reflecting strong overseas demand. A research report from an insider pointed out that in the fourth quarter of 2023, overseas car sales saw nearly double-digit year-on-year growth, indicating economic recovery, and a slight increase compared to the previous quarter, consistent with seasonal trends. China’s automotive exports maintain a high level of prosperity, with the global market growth continuing, albeit at a slower pace. In the short term, Chinese export-oriented automotive component companies still possess advantages such as cost-effectiveness and services in their respective segments. In the medium to long term, the overseas growth logic will bring new growth curves for some companies. Recommended component companies include Top Group, Starwise, and New Spring. For complete vehicles, attention is advised on new car developments after the Spring Festival.
On January 29, Xu Daquan, the newly appointed President of Bosch China, stated that exports would contribute to the growth of China’s total automotive production in 2024. Bosch is the world’s largest automotive component supplier. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers’ forecast, the total sales of automobiles in China are expected to increase by about 3% to 31 million units in 2024, with domestic market sales conservatively estimated to remain flat compared to 2023. Meanwhile, China’s automotive exports are anticipated to achieve a growth of around 10%, reaching 5.5 million units.
